Length of time you’ve been involved with the JYPA:

I started volunteering as a chaperone when my daughter, Orla, started rehearsing for Annie Jr in 2022.
I became more involved in Frozen helping with chaperoning and being part of the sewing circle! I joined the committee in 2024.

How did you get involved?:

Orla and I have always gone to watch the JYPA shows and after Grease she decided she wanted to audition for the next show.
She auditioned for Annie Jr and I stayed for a few rehearsals then volunteered to be a chaperone.

What do you bring to the group?:

I love the children to have a full audience as they always work so hard. I never miss an opportunity to advertise shows on social media!
I have a lot of experience working with children with additional needs so can help to support children and young people at the relaxed performances.

What would your dream role be in a musical or play?:

I’m definitely living my childhood dream through Orla! When I was young and Annie the musical was first released, I was mesmerised when I went to watch it at the cinema. I bought the record and used to sit for hours in my room casting my class in primary school to the different roles and singing along to the songs! Obviously I was Annie! If it wasn’t as Annie it would have to be Princess Fiona! 💚
